Student Testimonials

We’ve had literally hundreds of happy customers who have attended this very popular workshop. Here are some examples of the many kind compliments that we receive…..

“We were nervous to start this course with our limited knowledge of cameras. However Michael was brilliant. He put us at ease straight away. Over the day the instruction and guidance was excellent. I would not hesitate to attend another course with Michael and would defo recommend. Cheers John and Julie”

“Hi there! I did your Introduction to DSLR course yesterday, and just wanted to say what a great day out it was. A nice relaxed atmosphere, well-paced, a nice stroll around Yarm, and some great pointers on that mysterious ‘manual’ mode that’s always baffled me.
Promise I’ll put a blob of black paint over the ‘Auto’ symbol on my Nikon dial so I can NEVER use it again”

“I went to the photo workshop with some friends, We had a great day we learnt so much as we were all beginners. Now we just need to practice what we learnt. I would love to go back to may be a next level class to learn more.”

“Learnt a lot on the Introduction to Digital SLR cameras, no longer using the automatic mode! Will definitely attend another course soon. Thanks Guys!”

“Husband had a fantastic day , excellent tutors and learnt so much”

“I did the introduction workshop to DSLR photography and I loved it! We started with the basics in the studio before practicing indoor and outdoor. It took me a while to get used to manual mode but Michael was very helpful and he made sure that everyone managed to take good pictures. Now, I want to learn more! Hopefully, there is a 10 weeks course coming up soon!”

“Really friendly and enjoyable session.”

About This Workshop

The course generally runs between 10.30am and 3pm (unless otherwise stated) with the studio doors opening at 10.15am.

Our workshops are small and friendly and tailored towards complete beginners and those with a basic knowledge of photography.

The first part of the day will be spent in the studio, working with our cameras to learn all about photographic technique. We grab a quick lunch and coffee at one of the many fabulous cafes here in Yarm (not included) before heading around town to put everything we have learnt into practice! Yarm has a wide range of beautiful photographic opportunities and subjects that you can shoot.

Once you have completed this essential first step we can offer you further courses to reinforce what you have learnt and then take you to the next level.

DSLR camera owners will benefit most from this workshop, however if you have a bridge camera, or a point and shoot camera that has manual setting, you will still benefit hugely. Please check that your camera has manual settings before booking (most modern cameras include manual settings as standard). However, a DSLR CAMERA is strongly recommended to make the most out of this course.

We have DSLR cameras available to hire if required (£20).
